Berliner Type 2014

A renowned prize and a remarkable book: BERLINER TYPE 2014. The submissions to the 46th Berliner Type 2014 showed an impressive quality in addition to their great variety – enthusiasm included! In summary, the BERLINER TYPE was characterized by its remarkably high standard, a veritable role model for “design work and its application in print”. It rewarded the passion for good typography using fonts, small capitals, ligatures, lines, surfaces, typographic spaces and tectonics, print space, columns, and finishing in print, paper and layout. Prizes were also awarded for all the disciplines involved in the process, from planning and conception, graphics and design, illustration, photography, printing, and reproduction through to processing. And there were prizes for annual reports, magazines, catalogs, books, calendars, elaborate agency portraits, bound, stapled, glued, in hard and soft covers with beautiful spines or, somewhat rustic, simply as a glued stitched binding.
