But Cowboys Can't Fly

Christmas is over, and ten-year-old Jodie has just made a big move: from the big, Bustling city of Vancouver, to a rustic cattle ranch in Alberta, run by her grandparents.

It isn't as if living in Vancouver has left her totally unaware of nature and the animal life. After all, she did take horse riding lessons back home.

But living on the ranch opens Jodie's eyes to a wonderful new world. First, her grandfather buys her a horse of her own. Then Miss Dog, a stray that wanders onto their property, becomes an invaluable friend. And that's not to mention some exciting adventures with an owl that need nursing back to health--and a bear that comes a little to close for comfort!
