Possum Heights

Allie is a successful young woman with her own realty business. She has a beautiful home in a great neighborhood, wonderful coworkers, and a loving big brother as her best friend. After breaking off a short-lived relationship with a local newcomer, though, she finds herself suddenly bombarded with unwanted gifts and strange phone calls. Desperate to cut ties with her admirer, she decides to leave town for an unplanned vacation.   Izzy is a tie-dye sporting, golf club wielding, bargain shopping cat lady with a heart of gold and case of OCD. Residents of her home town, Possum Heights, either love or hate her and her strange ways. Whether she's cruising around town in her beloved VW Bug, Barney, or meticulously counting the fries going into each bag at the local diner, she's always got a trick up her sleeve and a plan to help anyone in need.   As luck would have it, Allie finds herself almost out of gas and in need of rest in Possum Heights. The unlikely pair meet up, and Allie finds quirky Izzy to be quickly growing on her. Things take a turn, however, when Allie's admirer follows her to town. Will Izzy and the residents of Possum Heights be able to keep her safe?   A delightfully light read, Possum Heights is a charming story about not judging a book by its cover, or perhaps, not judging a potential friend by her crazy habits and odd sense of fashion. Allie is your everyday workaholic, focused on being successful in life rather than enjoying living. Izzy is that crazy neighbor--everyone has one or has known one--that people either love or hate. Whether readers love or hate her, she's a character that anyone can relate to, and is an absolute joy to follow as she finds a way to help everyone she meets.   Before sitting back down, Izzy grabbed the apple pie from the refrigerator and cut a modest slice for Allie, setting the aromatic dish before her. Izzy quietly took in Allie's reaction as she picked up the fork, ready to sample the mouthwatering treat. Boy, this looks delicious! she said, digging in with the fork. Upon bringing it to her mouth, she let the aroma seep into her nostrils before tantalizing her taste buds. Mmmm, good, she said through a mouthful of pie. Thank you, Izzy said, pleased she could share her prized apple pie. Allie was relishing the last of the pie when she noticed the beautiful plate beneath. Such a beautiful plate! I love the design!
