The Sword of Godfroi

It's 2010 and James Pontic is summoned to the Banca de Firenze - an elite European bank that was at one time owned by the Medici family - to collect a parcel that has been found in the bank's vaults with James's name on. The mysterious parcel contains a written account of the Catholic Church's endeavours to track down a sword once owned by Godfroi de Bouillon, a Crusader knight. But what does this have to do with James?? In a grand and epic adventure that spans over four hundred years of history and several countries, James tries to make sense of the curious coincidences and puzzling parallels that lead him to discover his family's history, how it has shaped who he is, and - most importantly - his place in the on-going history of the sword.
