A wistful account of two English women, who are following a dream to settle in warmer climes (in this case France) after an adventurous life on the ocean wave and later, on the open road in their trusty motorhome.? Snapshots of their journey are captured in whimsical vignettes, and provide thought provoking moments for the reader to reflect on and, perhaps compare with times in their own lives.? For every triumph there is a tribulation but these are dealt with stoically and with humour. The initial joy of finding their perfect 'cottage in the sun' and the practicalities of actually living there are a perfect example of this, when the weather lulls them into a false sense of security, as it does on numerous occasions. When the time comes to leave their idyll, it is written with poignancy and with hope and leaves the reader with a sense of peace.
