Are you a Jimmiehead, or are you still using one of those old-fashioned smartphones? Jimmies are tiny microchips, that when painlessly implanted into your brain, magically transform your eyes and ears into the ultimate handsfree device.
Every teen wants one -- except 16-year-old Amy, who detests technology in any form. But when thousands of Jimmieheads mysteriously vanish, only she can save them. Immune to Jimmie's influence, Amy's search for the missing teens reveals an ominous connection between the bizarre disappearances and the Fun Zone -- a spooky amusement park that's been dark for 50 years!
A teenage girl is unjustly sent to a boot camp for troubled teens where she discovers a frightening fantasy world.
Amy is uprooted from the city she loves to the Midwest -- and she's pissed! Miserable in her new home and unpopular at school, the 16-year-old blasts her parents for destroying her happiness. But when Amy's verbal attacks turn physical, she is sent away to a boot camp for troubled teens. Expecting Bonehead Bootcamp to be a laid-back country retreat, Amy instead enters a frightening fantasy world of altered time and space. Together with three other unruly teenagers, she must summon all her courage and ingenuity to get back home.
A 21st century teenage girl finds love in 1963 through a bewitching TV, and accidentally alters history.
What if you could tune your TV to the year 1963, and watch -- live? A new theme park attraction allows visitors to not only observe, but talk with the people of that turbulent decade. For 16-year-old Amy, it's the perfect escape from her own time -- and the hardships of being a modern-day teenager.
But when she falls for a charming teenage boy from yesteryear, things get complicated. Building a relationship across time proves difficult, especially while computers constantly bleep any language that might impact the future. Happily, Amy acquires a "magic clicker" which defeats this annoying restriction. But gaining the ability to speak freely comes with a heavy responsibility: Amy now has the power to alter history!
"We're all guilty of something, aren't we?"
A late-night phone call from a stranger implicates 16-year-old Amy in a terrorist plot. But when the nefarious caller suddenly vanishes, she becomes the FBI's prime suspect. To prove her innocence, Amy embarks on a fantastic journey to find her mysterious night caller. The clues to the man’s whereabouts all point to a dingy, old barbershop that caters to the rich and powerful. What draws them to the shop's eccentric barber is bewildering, until Amy stumbles upon the secret to his success: a magic shampoo that removes guilt!
16-year-old Amy takes revenge on a boy who bullied her in the 3rd grade. It's an election year, and when she learns of the boy's support for a presidential candidate, Amy joins the opposition in hopes of getting even with him.
Federal law now mandates that all candidates must face-off in a cross-country race, in their campaign busses. Amy volunteers to tag along, since her grade school nemesis will be riding with the rival candidate. But the campaign trail turns bumpy, when their journey takes an unexpected detour -- into a fantasy world!
Amy struggles with doubts about her plan to avenge the boy. It's been seven years since she last encountered him, and the malicious bully who tormented her has matured into a decent (and cute) young man! Now her struggle is to keep from falling in love with him.

THE GIRL IN THE RED HOOD has been looking for her mother for six months, searching from the depths of New York’s subways to the heights of its skyscrapers . . .
THE PRINCE looks like he’s from another time entirely, or maybe he’s just too good at his job at Ye Old Renaissance Faire . . .
THE ACTRESS is lighting up Hollywood Boulevard with her spellbinding and strikingly convincing portrayal of a famous fairy. Her name may be big, but her secrets barely fit in one world . . .
Fifteen-year-old Crescenzo never would have believed his father’s carvings were anything more than “stupid toys.” All he knows is a boring life in an ordinary Virginia suburb, from which his mother and his best friend have been missing for years. When his father disappears next, all Crescenzo has left is his goofy neighbor, Pietro, who believes he’s really Peter Pan and that Crescenzo is the son of Pinocchio. What’s more: Pietro insists that they can find their loved ones by looking to the strange collection of wooden figurines Crescenzo’s father left behind.
With Pietro’s help, Crescenzo sets off on an adventure to unite the real life counterparts to his figurines. It’s enough of a shock that they’re actually real, but the night he meets the Girl in the Red Hood, dark truths burst from the past. Suddenly, Crescenzo is tangled in a nightmare where magic mirrors and evil queens rule, and where everyone he loves is running out of time.
The aim in this work is to address, through historical narrativization of some specific moments of colonial state building, the question: What, in theory, are the historical specificities of the ‘colonial’ state as distinct from other state forms? An attempt is made in this book, to weave together the discourse of state theory and the narrative of state practices. This approach is based on the argument that theory was not something out there to guide practice. Empirical evidence suggests a more complex picture of interaction between the two where, within parameters structured by theory, the practice in turn produces and structures theory at each conjuncture.
This book on the Indian Railway Strike of 1974 looks at the history of the time, the role of the rank and file in the strike, and the fate of the strike itself. Even as one of the most distinctive aspects of the strike was the autonomy of the rank and file, the significance of the struggle had much to do with the nature of the time. The country was in the midst of a general political crisis, sections of the peasantry were in revolt, and there were expressions of solidarity from the industrial working class. However, the strike leadership was not resolute and decisive, and failed the rank and file. In the absence of a political vanguard, the uprising was left without a determined subject.
My chore after dinner is to feed my kelpie. A kelpie, if you don't know, is a carnivorous faerie horse. Until I accidentally gave him a piece of my soul, this particular kelpie had killed two kids near the hundreds-of-years-old castle my family and I live in. Heather MacArthur had a hard enough time dealing with the arrival of a kelpie into her life, but that was only the beginning. Summoned as liaison between humans and faerie, Heather is informed by the fey nobles that another danger has arrived in the area and is claiming rights to the MacArthur lands: a particularly mad daoine síth named Calbraith, that even the kelpie finds cruel and unusual. As luck would have it, twenty students have also just arrived at the MacArthur family castle for her mother's riding camp. It will take Heather, her whole family, the royal family, and a few friends she didn't realize she had, to keep Calbraith from enslaving--or killing--all of them.

Anti-conspiratorialist author and lecturer Chasen Derrick has landed a lucrative but highly suspect teaching post at the exclusive Dysart Academy in Southern California. When the dean of students asks him to lead a field trip to England, Chasen reluctantly agrees, and the first few days of the tour go smoothly.
That is, until the mass abduction. The fire. The shootings. And the medieval torture.

This volume, endorsed by Anglican bishops and scholars around the world, is important reading for those preparing for the Global Anglican Future Conference in Jerusalem in June 2018 – and for those in other traditions too.
Author Stephen Noll has been a watchman and participant in Anglican affairs over the past quarter century, as a priest and educator in the USA and Uganda. This highly readable anthology of his writings, often written in the heat of the battle, chronicles the departure of the Anglican establishment in North America and England from classic Christian teaching on Scripture, marriage, and church order. Professor Noll concludes:
“I want to commend to readers the vision of a renewed and reformed Global Anglican Communion, a communion of churches that builds on the heritage of the Church of England and represents the emerging leadership of formerly colonial Anglican churches, whereby the oversight of doctrine and discipline has shifted from Canterbury to the Global South.”

The novel opens with the wedding of Kristin Nicol and Darren Maundeville in a small, historic cathedral in Northern Ireland. The guests returning to England, the author follows this toxic soup of friends and relatives for a year, opening a window onto the peaks and troughs of their lives: Maggie and Richard Dearlove, a reasonably happily married couple; Joanna Centofani, a self-adoring actress; the green-eyed Rosemary Icthus; the steely Mr. Cameron Scattergood and his antithetic wife, Ruth; the love-loathe duo Johnny Nicol and Charity B. as well as various other interrelated characters. The reader will sympathise, agonise and be antagonised! The dark humour is evident throughout the novel - and although there are some characters who have only one scene within the book, sometimes these are drawn with more verve and wit than many of the others. The timescale is not linear either, sometimes jumping back and dealing with different characters to keep the reader's interest. Plus the underlying story of spying, double-dealing and outright underhandedness definitely makes this story worth a second read. Philip Musson has captured a totally different world from the one that most of us know; from the glamorous couple the reader is introduced to at the beginning of the book, to the self-centred actress whose masterly comeuppance during a talk show is well worth a second read. The other vignettes that form part of the book are equally compelling especially the girl who lobs a snowball into the face of the publisher who has just rejected her script without even reading it. The KD Shindig is just that, a selection of scenes from the main characters lives, some of which the reader returns to, others that only appear once throughout the course of the novel and yet all these individual stories make up the whole flavour of the book which intertwines many stories to make a surprisingly cohesive whole.

Now comes the first-ever book to teach children about this most widely accepted statement of the Christian faith. It will help parents, grandparents, and teachers engage 5 to 12 year olds in the marvelous light of God’s love for them. The lucid commentary will help children understand what we affirm by reciting the Creed, and why each of its affirmations is important to the Christian faith. Fate has other plans.

Seth must get Josie fully prepared, which means controlling her newfound abilities, and they need to find the other demigods before the Titans do.

The aether in Josie is drawing Seth in deeper, and when lust mixes with love and gives way to power, he knows being close to her is not only dangerous to her, but to everyone around them, but letting her go requires a level of selflessness that just isn’t Seth’s style.
The paths taken in the past are becoming the roads of the future.
Just as chaos breaks out, familiar faces from the past return, complicating the already strained bond between Josie and Seth, and when the danger from the Titans erupts with devastating consequences, the dark allure of power calls to Seth again, but this time Josie might not be able to pull him back.
And when the struggle between power and love becomes the deadliest battleground, there may be no salvation.

When Margot Desouche, the powerful matriarch of one of Saint Louis’s founding families, is diagnosed with cancer, she takes a keen interest in her hospice nurse, Lee Bridger. Lee is drawn to Margot, too, but between her boyfriend who keeps trying to “save” the architectural treasures of old Saint Louis and her daughter, a some-time actress and full-time con artist, Lee has troubles of her own. When Margot’s children ally with a volatile community activist and pledge to tear down Margo’s beloved historic mansion to make way for affordable housing, Margot cuts them out of her will and the battle lines are drawn. With the spectre of the vaunted Veiled Prophet Ball gone wrong and a mysterious Cahokian goddess looming over everything, the heirs apparent—and not so apparent—must make peace before Margot draws her last breath.
Author Steven Clark paints a poignant portrait of the often crazy, always complicated lives of families large and small, rich and poor. The Saint Louisans is at once a sad and funny study of human and urban death and renewal that evokes the work of Tennessee Williams and Sara Teasdale, two Saint Louisans who wanted to be buried at sea, but instead ended up interred in Saint Louis cemeteries.

Are you letting self-doubt, fear, jealousy, or perfectionism keep you from getting more? Are you conscious of the choices you make with your money? Greater financial success is just around the corner.
IS THE RAPE OF NANKING A BOOK BASED ON FACTS?
China has been rapidly gaining strength in recent years and is about to establish its status as a hegemony. At the same time, the Chinese government is taking the Nanking Massacre up to a whole new level in the international society. In June 2014, the Chinese government filed an application with UNESCO to register the history materials regarding the Nanking Massacre and the comfort women as “Memories of the World.”
The Rape of Nanking, which came out in 1997, is a book that greatly contributed to creating this trend. Due to the book, the term “Nanking Massacre” has recently resurfaced and spread rapidly throughout the world, starting with the United States.
However, The Rape of Nanking has been brought up and argued by many experts as a ludicrous book, from the time it was published. The photos used in the book as records of cruel acts by the Japanese army are all photos that have been taken from elsewhere, completely irrelevant to the Japanese soldiers and Nanking.

Since the 1950s, curling has experienced an explosion in the number of men, women, juniors, and seniors who have taken up the game - both on the Prairies and across Canada - along with increasingly lucrative bonspiels, intense media coverage, and its share of controversy. The Stone Age looks at this important legacy of success both on and off the ice. It also highlights the careers of curlers such as Bob Dunbar, curling's first superstar, Sylvia Fedoruk, Joyce McKee, Ernie Richardson, Sandra Schmirler, all of whom made vital contributions to the development of the sport.
Thanks to four-time Canadian Women's champion Vera Pezer's long and outstanding involvement in the game, she brings character and colour to The Stone Age, with her personal stories of the events, players, and reporters who brought curling from the Prairies to the world stage.
The Stone Agewill be of interest to curling fans and Prairie history aficionados. It explores the impact of the sport on the cultural and social life of the Canadian Prairies and why it developed in a substantially different direction here than in its native Scotland or even Eastern Canada. More than that, for anyone with a love of the sport and history, The Stone Age provides a purely entertaining read.
